Always Coming Up With New Muffin Recipes!

She has made so many different recipes of muffins, I told her she needs to write a book. The only thing is that she just adds this and that as much as she thinks it needs and never measures and, no kidding they are always delicious!!
Rivyr taking her to grandpa and nanna's house to deliver some happiness in a basket!

A Day In The Woods Of Camelot

Grandpa built a Cross for our very own Sunrise Service in the Orchard. It was a beautiful day!

Adding Poultry To Our Agrarian Adventure!!

This year we picked out 5 each of 5 different kinds of chicks and when mommy saw the two little geese that someone had ordered and not picked up she knew she needed to give them a home, too! The children each picked a set and called them their own and daddy is hoping to build a little home for them.

No End To Discovering New Species!

Rivyr's design for a bee mask. One of the local bee men has asked to keep some bees on our land and is teaching the boys about how to care and handle them. Super cool to all of us!!

The boys are crazy about their creatures!! If we let them they would go out early in the morning, not come in until dark and find all kinds of creatures to play with and observe. Daddy lets them keep certain kinds for a day or two in the terrariums he has so they can watch and learn more about them.

Ice Cream 101

Grandma teaching our beginning summer course of 'how to eat ice cream'! Isn't homeschool awesome you can learn 24X7! The possibilities are endless on the courses you can come up with! He He! Some real life skills! We had fun with it anyway. As you can see once the children understood the basics they got pretty creative!

It's tough but somebodies got to eat the Ice Cream!!!

Can You Imagine?

Troy's parents took us to a special fossil museum for Mother's Day! It was so much fun!! The children had a chance to spend time with some of their cousins and we got to learn all kinds of things about archeology.
As you can see daddy was the silliest of us all! The old bones just made him crazy!!!
I think this was personally one of my favorite! Can you imagine swimming on the back of this awesome turtle's back?
You can see the dinosaurs in the back ground made you feel like you just walked into their world. Some of them even moved and made noises to each other. Poor little Andronicus just couldn't figure it out. When we walked in to where T-Rex was and his mouth was moving up and down Andronicus just kept saying "Back, Back."
Here's Grandma and Grandpa with all the children! It's a good thing they don't have one of these on the farm! It would probably eat them out of house and home! Who would need a car with an animal like this in the drive.

Heirloom Seed Festival

Recently, we took a road trip to a Spring Planting Heirloom Seeds Festival that we have been wanting to see for several years! It was great!! We camped out and it rained the whole time we were there but it was fabulous! We can't wait to go back! The founder of Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds is only 28 and he is amazing! He started out with his own garden just like the boys. Then he started collecting seeds and exchanging them through the Seed Savers Exchange, and now he sends out 150,000 catalogs all over the world and hosts these awesome heritage festivals and has built this little village with a flour mill, apothecary and a bunch of other features!!! Very inspiring and a lot of amazing vendors were there from everywhere.
Main Street of Bakers Ville.
Grandpa and Nana met us there too!!!
We got to see a lot of heirloom chickens and birds!
Troy and Rivyr with some precious local honey we were able to purchase.
Iylland in his frog slicker. It's a good thing we took our mud boots!!!

Life On Our Farm!

Spring is here the beautiful pink dogwood that Troy got for me last year is blooming wonderfully this year. A little bit of green is showing in the yard but the trees have yet to set new leaves.
This is our new pup NUMA!! (lion in some african language) Troy is still reading through the original Tarzan series with the boys and that is where they came up with his name. As you can see they are pretty happy about it!! Even Andronicus loves him! Our garden has been worked up by daddy and some early crops have been planted! It's been a blast gardening with daddy this year but we might have to expand the garden again, it seems to be getting little very fast!

Llyonesse is proud of her doughnut for grandpa!! Rivyr woke up with a grand idea of making doughnuts and I'm thinking we can surely figure out a healthy recipe!! They are homemade, whole wheat, sweetened with honey, cut and baked! They turned out great!!! Everyone loved them up! Yum, Yum!

Cupcakes!!

On Llyonesse and my sewing blog !Sew Simply Satisfying! in one of the March posts we showed my new design for these silky pants for under her dresses. They add length and are so yummy on her, just like a cupcake! The silk is easy to keep clean too which is great for my little princess who's learning everything from her three brothers about being an outside girl!

Time to be Outside!

The weather has been so nice Rivyr's back at his architectural projects again! This unique lean-to fort is resting right on our little tomato and garlic 'room' in our garden.
He checked out a building book for children at the library and we are hoping to build one of the forts out of it! I am sure you'll see it in a future blog, if we get the chance to!

This is my Where's Iylland picture.
Can you find him?

I think the boys have climbed all the trees on this side of the creek already this year! Their favorites have been the cedars because none of the rest of the trees have leaves yet. They think it's really funny to call my name and then let me walk right underneath of them. And now when they come inside they always smell really strong of Christmas trees! Of course every time they conquer a new tree we have to all come and see how high they are.
Some of my favorite memories are tree climbing when I was younger! My dad built the awesomest tree house ever and we always loved to climb up to it!

Plum Worn Out!

She's such a go-go girl! Now that the weather is nice I can hardly keep her in the house long enough to do her morning duties. She's loving the chickens, too, we call her the chicken whisperer. They come right up to her and let her hold them.

The Chickens have a Home!

Rivyr created a chicken ramp for our little hens on loan from Nana that are eating our ticks and chiggars. Or as we sometimes say in haste, Tiggars and chicks. Ha, Ha!! Say that 5 times fast!! Soon we hope that our momma goat will arrive, we've made a special home just for her! We'll keep you posted as soon as she gets here. ;)

The Gangsters!

Pretty scary looking! Crazy guys, always coming up with something fun to do in their spare time! You never can tell what they'll think of next! One of the things I would miss so much if I wasn't home schooling! They are so full of life and ideas every moment of every day. What a passion!
Storing up eternal treasures in heaven has been in our conversations of late!
Trying to make the most of every opportunity that God gives us!
Iylland is using his reading ability to comfort some of the residents at a local retirement home. He gets requests for different passages in the Scriptures. Everyone says the reads really well for a second grader. I have to say I am so proud of him and where the Lord is leading his little heart. I pray that he will be a great leader.
My Rivyr is growing so much in his understanding of the world around him. He has such a kind heart that is so forgiving and accepting of all people. He has so much love and is flowing over with creativity especially lately as he is becoming more and more confident in the things he can do! His reading, too, is giving him more doors to the world. He loves his daddy so much!!

Gardening Fever! We've got it!

We'll it's that time of year! We've cleaned-up the greenhouse and got it functioning! This was a couple weeks ago.(Two Weeks Later!)
All the children are avid gardeners this year, even Andronicus. It's been exciting for me as a mom watching their obsession growing! He,He! Daddy extended the garden next to the strawberries by more than twice! We are all excited to have him teaching us the ways of the farm this year! This is the first year he will have time to garden! We can't wait!
Well, I gotta get back and plant the asparagus that just arrived!!

Tis the Season for building again!!

Little Rivyr is building again! This is his latest design! Since we live in a yurt, I often wonder what our children will live in someday! They will probably really be outside the box!! HeHe!

Will they read our words?

I've been reading Noah Blake's Diary to the children and they have been enjoying hearing what a boy their age was interested in. We broke out the feather pen and ink so the children could try it. It was a hit!!! They loved drawing and writing!

So Much Wonder!

So much beauty, so much wonder and
so little time to catch it all!!!

Life is fleeting!
I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by! I remember as a child how time seemed to stand still and the years seemed so long and now the more children we have it seems like we are living life that much faster!!
Our life is 6X faster!!! Agh!!
I am realizing it's not how long we last here but what we do with each day that is given to us.
So many moments of grace and opportunities to reach out and touch eternity!
My beautiful flower above is the perfect picture of our lives.
It bloomed, was absolutely gorgeous to me, made it's surroundings more wonderful
then it was gone.
Have courage whether we live tomorrow or not what we do today can echo in eternity!!
